*phew*

Let me take a short breather.

Okay. We had a pretty busy day today. Bostyn at least let me sleep in a little bit this morning. But once we all woke up, cereal just wasn't enough for the kids today. So Noah, Bostyn and I went to IHOP and stuffed ourselves silly. Then we came home to get ready for Noah's birthday party. Margie made the cakes (thank you) and e decorated it once we were at Boondock's. It was a skateboard theme and we had an actual skate ramp with "skateboard guys" on it. It was a HUGE hit with all the boys, who kept playing with it once Noah blew out his candles. It was better than actually eating it, apparantly! We had alot more kids show up than we were expecting. We had a turnout of 19 kids that were actually invited, and some of them brought their siblings, so we had more than 20 children. We welcomed all of them though, I say the more the better! Chris and I only wish we could have made it more personal and I don't think we will ever have his party at Boondocks again, as fun as it can be. We are also discussing celebrating his birthday more towards the summer, when we have more options and not so close to Christmas. So maybe next year. Chris and I were so busy that we didn't get to eat food, so we stopped at Zupas on the way home. Highly recommend it. They had amazing food and we wish they weren't so far from our home. Bostyn even liked the Thai Lobster Curry soup a lot. After we got home, Chris left to go to a MarioKart Wii contest at Blake's house. Good luck babe! We opened all of Noah's presents, which he really made out this year. His gifts ranged from Skittles & Jelly Beans to a John Deere loader.

Thank you to everyone for their thoughtfulness and generosity, we really appreciate it! There were quite a few that didn't have cards or any information as to who they were from, so thank you cards will be a little difficult, but I'll try my best! Pics will be posted soon.

Thanks again to everyone!
Love, Noah

(we look forward to going to 2 birthday parties next Saturday)

happy birthday noah!

Chris & I want to wish our very sweet boy Noah a very happy 4th birthday!

Chris took the day off from work, made eggs & bacon and took Noah to Toys R Us to spend his gift cards from Oma Els. Noah got to open his Handy Manny toy, which Chris said Noah spent a good part of the day playing with. For dinner we took Noah to Chuck E Cheese for the first time & we played lots of games. When we came home, there was a present on the door for Noah: a Noah-size ice cream & sprinkles! Thank you Aunt Arn & Uncle Matti. We had cake & sang Noah happy birthday, where he did a fantastic job blowing out his candle.

We will celebrate his birthday this Saturday and we can't wait. We're very excited to have so many of our family & friends come to celebrate such a big day in our little boy's life!

Party!! update

On the previous posting about Noah's party, I put the start time as 2:00pm. Don't ask me what I was thinking, because Noah's party starts at 1:00pm! [duh] At least on the invites I wrote the correct time! Thank you to Dallas's mom for pointing that out and I hope I didn't confuse anyone! Please contact me for any more questions.

Monster Truck Show

Chris and Noah had a boy's day out last Saturday and went to the monster truck show and motocross. Noah had a lot of fun but he was more concerned about playing with his new monster trucks than anything. Later that night, I got kicked out of his bedroom when I was trying to say good night to him, because he wanted dad. Because he likes dad. So beat it, mom.

you're invited!

Noah's 4th birthday bash is coming up! Chris & Noah will celebrate early tmrw, they are going to the monster truck show at the e-center. There will also be motocross, which I know Noah is super excited for! We gave him a few choices & he is the one that decided he wanted it at Boondock's again this year, I guess it made an impression on him last year. He will be older this year, so he will be able to partake in more of the festivities this time. I think it will be a skateboard theme this year. We asked Noah if he wanted a new bike or skate videos & he yelled out "skate videos!"

Here is the rundown for Noah's party:
We will have a reserved table for 90 minutes. The schedule is below:
1:00 Welcome! Find your seat, sit down, mingle, have fun!
1:10 Order food. Drinks are served. Boondock's host/hostess will do magic tricks!
1:20 Pizza/food is served. Birthday boy gets the first slice. Drinks refilled as needed
1:30 Get ready for cake! Table is cleaned
1:45 Cake Cake Cake! Sing. Birthday boy gets first slice of cake
1:50 finish eating and start opening presents
2:00 Clean up. Children get small party favors, wristbands & tokens. Leftover pizza & cake will be held while everyone starts to play
2:30 We are kicked off our table, so please gather all your belongings but everyone is welcome to stay as long as they want and keep playing!

Each child will get 2 slices of pizza
Unlimited soda/water during table time
Cake, of course!
20 arcade tokens per child
Unlimited kiddie cove (max. 48")

We will provide one more choice of food, such as a salad bowl, appetizer platter or veggie tray. I doubt each child will eat 2 slices of pizza, so the parents can share. Additional food can be purchased by the parents at the Boondocks Back Porch Grill. You can view the menu by clicking on Back Porch Grill. We will be able to purchase 100 tokens for $20. If anyone wants to buy more tokens, let me know and we can get all 100 tokens for you, or I am sure we can work out splitting amongst others. I NEED a head count so please RSVP no later than January 15 (you can do that here or text me) and if you have any q's or suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

happy new year!!!

This is the first official post of the new year, woo hoo! We had a pretty eventful new years day. Last night we ended up not going to Wendover like we originally planned, but went to a party instead. It wasn't great fun, but we saw a few people that have moved out of state this past year and were visiting for the holidays, so that made the trip worth it completely. We left soon after midnight and came home and watched a movie on cable and crashed around 3am. We woke up this morning around 10 (it was so nice to sleep in without the kids waking us up, thank you so much Margie and Wade for letting them stay the night!) We saw the first showing of Seven Pounds, which was a really good movie and I highly recommend everyone go see it. I cried pretty hard towards the end, almost couldn't catch my breath because I was trying to cry quietly, lol! After that, we picked up the kids and had lunch at Texas Roadhouse with my godmother Pat & her boyfriend Rod. It was a good time, I love spending time with her. Came home around 4, took naps until 8 pm! What a day.

I'm not the resolution-making type, but this year, I hope that I will finally finish my Associates Degree (just one class to go), finish my 1 prerequisite for dental hygiene school, hopefully start school, get into a house, and maybe, just maybe settle into being a mom more and figure out how to balance kids, husband, work, school and home! Any suggestions are highly appreciated! I hope everyone had a great year, here are a few pics from nytimes in review of 2008.
