Thursday was Pioneer Day. We were going to hit up the local neighborhood parade in the morning, but we all slept in and relaxed a bit. Chris had to work all day in exchange for the day after Thanksgiving off and he was supposed to go to out for his weekly guys night out, but he didn't go so that poor grumpy tired Bostyn could fall asleep and Noah and I could ready to go see fireworks with Aunt Arn and Uncle Matti. LIBERTY PARK HAS THE BEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN THE STATE OF UTAH, HANDS DOWN!!!! There wasn't a single second that went by without any fireworks, and less than 10 minutes into the fireworks, there was a mini-finale or something and it seriously seemed as though the fireworks were coming out at us and a lady next to us jumped. They were AMAZING and I wish Bostyn hadn't been so worn out, I really wanted her to see them. Chris had to work the next morning, bright and early, as usual, so he couldn't make it either. But have no fear, there are more fireworks August 9 near the Kearns pool. We will go to those but I know they won't be nearly as good as this show! Oh well, fireworks are great no matter what.
Friday was Bostyn's FIRST birthday! I tried to put a cute post on here on that day, but my computer froze and it was like 1 in the morning and I said screw it. So we want to wish a late Happy Birthday to Bostyn on here: We love you and you are so big! Poor Bostyn had a pretty crappy birthday. First thing in the morning she had her 1-year shots, 4 total. One in each arm and one in each leg. And the stupid girl that was doing the shots on the right side put the needle completely in Bostyn's arm, and for some reason, pulled it all the way back out, and put it back in Bostyn's arm and then gave her the shot. I was holding Bostyn down, so I know she didn't move. Who knows what that girl was doing. After we left the doctor's office we found a park with a splash pad and Noah got SOAKING wet and had to ride home in nothing but his dry t-shirt. Bostyn was exhausted from her morning from hell and took a good few hours long nap. When Chris got home he said we should go out to dinner to celebrate and Noah said we should go to IHOP. GREAT idea, because Bostyn loves pancakes! Unfortunately the food wasn't great and it took forever, even though we were literally the ONLY people in the restaurant! We made it up to her, however, by going to Macey's and buying her her first birthday cake and taking her home to let her go nuts and trash it! She wasn't really in the mood, I think she had a small fever from her shots, but she gave it a pretty good smashing and we got some really cute pictures! (see below) Bostyn literally passed out the second I put her in bed, hugging her panda bear we got her for her birthday.
Saturday night after dinner, Bostyn took her FIRST STEP! She managed to just get the one in before she fell, but she got right back up & took another one! I guess she figured that was enough because she would barely even stand up anymore. We'll keep our eyes out for her next one! After th excitement we met Margie, Wade, Trav, Amber and Matich at Yogurt Stop for an ice cream party for Bostyn, which I recommend doing even when its not someone's birthday.
Sunday we drove up to Ogden for Opa's 80th Birthday Bash at Aunt Nancy's sparkling new pool and had a BBQ. Bostyn got a bunch of really cute clothes and a pink toy bus for her birthday. Maybe she will stop stealing Noah's toys if she has her own! Thank you to Nancy and her family for giving us a great day to just have fun, relax and swim! Happy birthday Opa, we love you!
After Opa's bbq, it was back to Salt Lake for Rob's bbq. The second Noah walked into the backyard & saw the trampoline, his eyes glazed over & he started walking towards it like he was in a trance, he was so excited! But first, a quick hug to his best-grown-up-buddy Mike Kimble, then after swimming earlier for hours, my boy had enough energy to jump his heart out with Rob's daughter Kaylie. Bostyn got to jump a little bit too, but managed to fall & land on her face more (yes, I was holding her, that girl gets CrAzY!!) As we were buckling the kids into the car, the strong wind caught hold of one of the birthday balloons from Nancy's house & stole it from Noah. Poor Noah started bawling & the only thing that could console him up was a Capri Sun! If that's what is going to cheer him up from now on, I'll stock up on those to get me through the next year! And I'll buy him a new balloon.

What happened to all your slide shows? The cake in my fridge was a orange bundt cake. Super easy to make and yummy. Are you going boating with Brion?
