Its a no go

Sorry I haven't put up pics of our beautiful tree yet, I've been busy!! We took a few really cute family pictures in front of it, it was nice to finally get a family photo. One day we will have them professionally done. One day.

A couple of days ago Chris learned that his hours are being cut back and he really should not count on any overtime at all. Going from an average of 14 hours or more overtime a week to none is a huge chunk of change for us after we've been used to that income for the past 3 years! Needless to say, buying a home would make things extremely tight for us and we don't even know what the future of Chris's job will hold with the economy going the way that it is. We have until July 1 to close to get the $7500 tax credit, which is a really nice incentive, so we will work our butts off to pay down as much as we can in bills and try again in late spring/early summer. We will of course keep you posted.

Things happen for a reason....maybe by the spring real estate will have dropped even further and you will get an even better deal, or you will find something you like not so far away. At least you have all the paperwork done and have a start.

You always say the right thing, Colleen! Thank you for your advice and support and we will continue to work on buying a house despite the economy.

Bummer. I hope that eventually in the near future it will work out for you.
